It depends what kind of study online. If its not an actual college but some other form of credited online study then employers may not give it as much credit as an actual college degree. If you are studying through distance education with a well know college then both are fine.
If you choose study online use it to your advantage and make sure you be clear in an interview and discuss your demonstrated dedication and time skills. Because online college is alittle harder because it means you need to maintain your own time and find your own passion and schedule. Instead of being encouraged in a physical class you have to do this on your own. Good luck

With some jobs they look at things other than your academic credentials. They look at thing like your hobbies if you pledge in a fraternity. Those things aren't the key focus of the job but are important nevertheless.
As for as which is better and online degree or going on campus. It depends on the job.Know your field.
