Will leg hair grow slower if you wait to shave it?

Hey I'm 13 I have not started my period yet, thank god, and my mom wont let me shave my legs until I have it because she says the hair will grow slower if you wait but I'm in eighth grade and its akward. Is it true?

Not true - I started shaving my legs when I started my period (I was 11!) and my hair still grew rapidly. It's true that the more you shave your legs the faster and thicker it'll come in - but so what, you'll have to start eventually.

I'm nervous to ask my mom because she has strong opinions

Then shave them on your own - she cant stop you from shaving your legs, that's kind of extreme.
