America choose inclusion, hope, and courage over division, self-righteousness, and fear.

I didn't know that it would be possible for America to elect a black man to the highest office in the land in my lifetime even if he was as much better than his opponent as Obama was than McCain.

I'll bet that the right-wing hate machine will do everything they can to mislead Americans with smears, half-truths, and bald faced lies but America is beginning to see through this veil. They tried to swiftboat Oboma but were unsuccessful.

oh I AM pissed... because he DID tell us lies. and now that he's our next president, I believe the supporters of obama are going to be like oh crap I cant believe I voted for him! he sux!

like he talks about distributing the wealth to people who dont have much money, when his brother is poor living in a hut in kenya and his aunt is also very poor. did he help them? NO. people who actually work hard for there pay... omg its not going to be pretty at all! because a good amount of their money that they worked hard for are going to go to lazy people who dont want to work!

people think its a race issue, that we dont want someone who supports Arabs to run the country. well hello! who attacked us on 9/11? well.. ONE OF OBAMA'S TERRORIST friends was one of them!! how can you vote for someone who's friends with our enemy? he IS our enemy.. and now our enemy is about to run this country.. ! oh snap.

I really dont know exactly what to expect.. but you obama supporters who want change.. well.. ha.. uh yea. change is to come... but not good change.

people should start thinking about what KIND of CHANGE Obama wants to bring to this country.

I am upset about Obama winning! He has made many promises, but I want to know how he plans to keep all those promises. I have heard some people say that he's like Robin Hood: He'll take from the rich and give to the poor (or rather, take from the hard-working and give to the lazy!) It doesn't make sense! I fear that our country is in for some trouble...

Most people *want* the kind of change Obama is talking about:

- recovery from the guns+butter Bushonomics that's put our economy on the brink
- lower taxes for the working class (including working professionals)
- universal preventative and emergency health care
- the end of the war in Iraq
- an end to stacking the supreme court with radical right wingers

...that's why he won.

Are you conservatives actually surprised Obama won? What planet have you been living on. Many have been saying for at least the past month it would be a landslide. I was one of them...

He won, get over it.

I'm VERY mad Obama won.

- He won't even salute our flag/Say the pledge of alligance/wear a flag pin
- He's going to tax the hell outta us (that one I can semi-understand where he's coming from.)
- He's stopping all small business (what makes America America)
- I ttly agree with what juliet said.
- He wants to stop the war with Iraq... Didn't democrats *want* to go to war with Iraq after 9/11? Bush just took the safer way around it, and waited for a while.

And besides, doesn't anyone remember what happened with the Vietnam War?

The only way to know if he is a good President is giving him a chance. And if is not a good Presient then the next election you will decide it. That's democracy, right? The people decided. But I had seen and taled with some people on the net and some say that people won't like Obama bevcause He's not white. On some percent ..that could be true, too.

But let's see what happens...and really they are a lot of people who are in need.
Only Time will tell.

I am personally GLAD that he won. Want to know why:

-He favors raising minimum wage.
-He he supports eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use or possession
-He is willing to let each state decide if gay marriages should be allowed
-He is bringing our troops home!
-He agrees that we should teach teens about abstinence and also about contraception
-He is Pro-Choice!!!
-Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions
-He will know how to seperate church from state - finally.

I am so glad Obama won who wants mccain running your country with that awful sarah palin hopefully now my country will be able to work better with urs instead of trying to deal with an idiot although I do have to admit our pm is a bit of a nob

Legalizing marijuana is not stupid. It would save tax payers billions of dollars. Why are we arresting people and putting them in jail for simply carrying a dime bag when there are millions of real criminals out there. It's a waste of time and money and a losing battle.

Banning guns is NOT stupid. He is not saying banning all guns either, he's talking about Gun control, which needs to be taken care of. Do you see how many little children are killed by guns everyday. Your kidding me right.

Taking God out of everything is FAIR! Seperation of church and state. This country is about FREEDOM, the freedom to have whatever religion you want. Why should we be forced to say the pledge under anothe God if that's not what we believe in. Why should YOUR GOD be on money, when there are thousands of other God's that people believe in. What's so great about you that you get to have your GOD everywhere.

He didn't pick himself to win. America did.
If all those Americans voted for Obama, that shows he HAS to be better than McCain.
McCain was mature about it; if you guys watched the elections last night and their speeches. So you guys should be mature about it too. Obama won, people choose him. If McCain SO GREAT as you guys think he is, then explain to me why he didn't win. If he WAS that great, we wouldn't be even having this conversation, and McCain would be named President. But as we all know Obama won which tells us McCain wasn't the right one to be President. Amercia voted Obama, Obama didn't vote for himself nor did McCain.

I am going to be completely honest, adn it is probably going to make a lot of people mad, but this is an opinion.
I am not racist, let me throw that out there. I work with a lot of black people, and I have a lot of black friends, but I believe Obama won because the vast majority of black people put their pride first instead of actually listening to the issues. They were all sitting back when he was picked as the candidate and said Oh, he's a black man! I'll vote for him. We need a black man in the White House, harhar.
I HONESTLY think that had McCain also been a black man, he would've won.

I dont care one way or another whether a black, white, man or woman is in the White House. I care about the issues and I do not believe Obama has Americas best interests at heart. I am worried about how he plans on shaping this country. He is a socialist and I do not believe that socialism is what we need in America. I am worried that we are going to become communist and that our natural rights are going to be taken away. It's already starting.
My boyfriend's mother recieved a phone call from a group yesterday asking if she would go online to sign a petition to BAN all religions except Islam and another one to BAN the making of Bibles, crosses and other Christian related items. It is ridiculous. I am not going to stand idlely by and allow my country to turn into that.

That is why I am STILL a McCain supporter.

I don't know what to think of him anymore. I heard that he still hasn't given out whether he's really an American Citizen or not. I hope he does what he says he's going to do.
I know, that I'll disagree with allot of his policies. This country is going to become a Communist Country. I'm sorry to say that, but, our freedom is already destroyed. I don't know what happened to America but, it's out of touch with the troditional values and beliefs that our founding Fathers found this country on.
I hope we can survive with Obama.
