Non flowering hydrangeas

Asked by mark1 3 months ago, 1 answer.

I started a big leaf hydrangea from a cutting about six years ago. it has grown to about 3 feet tall and very healthy-looking. My problem is that it has never flowered
since I started it...Any suggestions?

This type of hydrangea produces blooms from old wood, and if you had a late frost, its possible all the old wood died. Did all the new growth come up from the ground this year? If so, then thats the case, unless you pruned all the old wood off last year.

It also needs to be in a sunny spot.
