the egg is released before your period (yes even your very first one) so if you had sex and it fertilized, then you could be pregnant...

the reason you get your period is because your body is trying to get rid of your unfertilized eggs,,,u begin ovulating about two weeks before and with some people even during your period so if you have unprotected sex two weeks before, during, or even shortly after your period then you will be at high risk of getting pregnant
