Negatives of thumb sucking?

sometimes I find myself waking up in the middle of the night sucking my thumb..
is there anything bad about this? its a habit =/

I think the only bad thing is that it can kind of screw up your teeth. it can push your front teeth forward and give you bucked teeth. when I was little my parents put perfume on it so it would taste bad lol.

My sister is 25 years old and dose it all the time, and everywhere... even at clubs, going out to supper, going out to the movies, its just her habbit... she have gaped teeth now tho... nothing wrong with it

I used to suck my thumb for a majority of my life.I think since I was born til 13 or something like that and I can tell you that it will mess your teeth up and I don't mean really bad that you have to get braces but ya in a crooked way and your thumb will start to look different.it just depends how long you suck your thumb like how many years or whatever
