Well.. generally intros don't have to be too long. I don't really know what your essay is about hehe but just try and introduce the essay. Say what you are going to write about.. Introduce the lady =] Say who she was. etc.

And a little tip: My english teacher is always telling our class not to write in 1st person when writing essays (especially in the intro).. They tend to take marks off..but that's up to you and your style of writing may dependd...=]

An introductional segment is usually used to lay out what you are going to explain and situate the matter of the paper, in short though. Try to make it sound at least a bit intresting but don't overdo it, page long intro's are blegh!
