your cycle being every 23 days is going to make it hard to figure out when you ovulate. Generally ovulation takes place on or about 14 days before your next period starts, and for a woman who has a regular 28 day cycle of course its 14 days before or 14 days after.

When you start to ovulate, your body temp will increase slightly/ If you take your temperature every morning before you get out of bed, chart it and watch for trhe peak. The day it peaks is the day you ovulate.

Do some reading on it, hope this helps.

You can try what pinkpearl touched on. It's called fertility charting. You check your cervical mucous and your basal body temperature daily and they will cue you to when you're ovulating. There are many programs online that can guide you through fertility charting but stay away from the ones that throw you in to a generic 28 day cycle as they are usually wrong.

Also, you might look into the message boards on ivillage.com . There are many women there that can share the same experience and possibly help you out.

I would wait until you finish your post secondary eduation and than get setteled into a career and than have a baby. If you want to have a child and give it everything that you want to. I would wiat. Get a career and settle down. Once your stable than shoot for a baby. You are only 17 you have the whole world ahead of you. DO you really want to be tied down at your priME. Wouldn;t it be better to go out witrh your friends than actaully tell them you cant becuase you have a child?

17 is too young to be helping her out folks. Look at someone's profile before you begin trying to hurt their lives.

My mistake... I took the question at face value, without checking the age of the asker. Although... its not like she can't get the answers on Google... but yes, I agree. Totally irresponsible to feed minors information that can hurt them. Thanks.

Yeah, I just answered at first too. But then I started looking at their ages before I would answer.
