It depends on what the purpose of the fake profile is. If you create a fake profile to exploit the identity for your gain then yes it is illegal.

Can you make a fake profile? Yes you can, it's easy and if you do it right no one will ever find out that you created a fake profile. As long as no one finds out then it's not really illegal :P

Basically if you want to create a fake profile don't use real information about a person that is linked to the photos you upload.

Use totally fake information and you'll be fine because no one is ever going to find out, unless you spill the beans.

Oh and no you can't make a profile of a high status person like a celebrity because you will definitely be caught and if you are you'll have some big trouble coming your way.

because its probably going to be for the wrong reasons
to find out someone you know's personal information, ect
but that being said too many people have them, and all that can be done about it is reporting them to myspace and getting those people banned

first of all I think posers are the most stupididst and can even be the most desperate thing ever and myspace, its nothin but posers, ther are over 100 posers of john cena, over 100, seriously, and thats not countin wats on bebo and facebook, etc. they say it is, so ok, but why would you want to do it, now im not sayin you are, you may just be curious I dont know, but obviously myspace doesn care bout posers and fakes, b/c they sure dont do nothin bout them all, theres so many fake people and posers on there its ridiculus, my guess would be over half of them isn real, you may get a handful of real people on there, myspace is nothin but fakes and posers, I dont understand why people gets into that sites, thers nothin real but then again people dont like truth, the worse the gossip and rumor is the best, and when a person comfirms, the still dont believe it, which I think is retarded, I think myspace is retarded, theres more posers on there than there are real people, is it illegal I dont know, if it isn it sure should be...

No its not illegal. People usually say it I because its supposely Identity Theft but its really not. You're not cheating off this person, stealing from them, or gaining anything from it, except People thinking you're something you're not. Fake Away, My friend.
