My two year old can't talk!

I am a mother of a 2 year old son. Well my son doesn't talk yet, he only says bye bye. Its really upseting to see other children his age talking up a storm. My poor baby gets so fustrated because he can't tell me what he wants. His doctor wasn't very...

helpful either. I just wanted to know if any other parent out there has expirenced the same thing? Is there any light at the other end of the tunnel?

My 8 year old didn't start talking until he was 2 1/2. Every child develops at a different speed. Some hit milestones earlier than others. Don't compare your swwet one to others his age. My oldest son started walking at 8 months. My second son started at 14 months. don't worry hun, give him time. He'll get there!!!

Another thing, get his hearing checked

I know it is. When you talk to him, make sure you say your words clearly so he is understanding them. He'll start talking in no time.

You said he can say bye bye... does it sound normal when he says it, or does it sound like he's squeezing his nose to talk?

It sounds normal its very clear when he says it

Then just give him time. He'll start when he is ready. I was worried about my baby too but he never shuts up now!

my nephew is autistic. I told my sister when he was a baby he had symptoms of it. He is now 12 and says a lot more then he used to because of his classes.

get him checked for autism! are the noises constant? Like repetitive? It's hard to explain what they sound like in words.

It is but all the other symptoms for autism he doesn't have he makes eye contact he is very affectionate I know there is a spectrum, im just going to have to find him a different doctor.

Yes, do find another doctor. Get a second opinion and a third if you have to. You can't cure autism but it makes you feel better to know why your baby isn't talking yet.

My nephew had that too. In his case it wasn't that he couldn't talk but, he was uncomfortable with talking and got frustrated because he wanted to tell us to know what he wanted.

Just give it some time. If you are really worried then the suggestions up there are helpful like checking his ears. Doctors probably can't help with anything else.

Sing some songs to him! Some catchy ones, maybe he'll break his silence. We got my nephew to sing the map song from Dora the Explorer, well he hummed it...but it was something!

There is a possibility that he is def. That is what's wrong with my friends nephew. He is about three years old and can't talk because he is def. They just found this out, it was sad.
