How can my little sister play sports with a pad?

my sister is 11 years old and she has her period. She plays lots of sports like lacrosse,basketball,swimming,hockey and it gos on. lets say shes playing lacrosse and she has her period. Well in lacrosse you run so much and its really uncomfterable for her to be running that much and wearing a pad. she wants to start wearing tampons instead because they would just be so much easier but our mom says that shes too young. so.. what should she do? I know this is a stuff question but if you could give me some good advice it would help my sister out a lot.

LOL, I think thats really nice that you're looking out for your sister. The only thing you can do is try and convince your mum that she's wrong. Maybe her personal experience is clouding her judgement.

If your sister is mature enough to change them regularly, then she's old enough. Do some research on the internet -- there's a lot of information on that subject. Maybe you could print them out, and sit down with mum and sis and talk about what your mum's concerns really are.

some older women don't want girls to use tampoms unti they're married and lost their virginity...cause of breaking the hymen.

it's your sisters body and her choice, surely your mum can see that.
