My ps2 doesnt want to read discs anymore...

My PS2 stopped reading discs. I dont know what happend bt one day it juss stopped working. anyone know why and if theres anything I can do w/out having to call SONY? Help Appreciated. =] Thanx

Mine did 2... you may have to open it up and clean the eye off and blow the dust out...this works sometime...lemme remind you 0nce you open it everythng on it is void...

I think you can run a disc that cleans a regular cd plyer through it. If it is bad enough though, you may have to take it apart. Like fantasy said, evrerything will be void on it, and if you were to try and sell it to a game store chain, you wouldn't be able to; they wouldn't want it.

If none of the above have worked for you,then I'm afraid that your PS2 has been dealt the red ring of death. wink

In other words,it has quit reading discs and has had hardware failure.

You may need a new PS2,or just go ahead and upgrade to the PS3 happy

If it's sitting on its side, you might get it to read discs it wouldn't read by switching its position. Worked for me *shrug*

or just get an air can that people use for there computers to clear the dust out. Just open the disk holder then spray. it worked for mine when it did it to me. Or get a dick cleaner the one that 91jchevy87ec was talking about.

If you clean the laser with nail polish remover it worked for me and I had nothing wrong with it since
