My ipod doesnt play

My ipod doesnt play im my doc, I've made sure its turned up and it wasn't paused and it just wont play! its not the doc because I tried it on my brothers and my friends docs and it didnt work on theirs.
Can anyone help me?

Firstly you have to make sure what it is wrong,it is the machine itself or just its firmware got wrong. To test this ,you can go to the official iPod website to update your firmware to its latest edition.However,before updating your iPod's firmware you have to make a backup for your iPod's data if they are useful.
