Who can i go to about my dad abusing me?

iam 18 now and all my live my dad has abused me. my parents got divorced and the suitation was fine so my mom moved back. I just give up now because iam the only one he will physically abuse the rest of my family he verbally abuses. I have been punched...

in the face, slapped and he tried to strangle me. my mom tries to protect me but sometimes she isnt here when he hits me. I have called police before and it dosent change anything they never do anything. this is destroyin my family as my mom has overdose on sleepin pills before because of my dad. I just really need help now because iam in matric and doing my finals and this is happening every second night???I have tried talking to people but it dosent work. so please help me I want to know who I can go to so I can report this and I live in south africa cape town. please just help me???

how bout a teacher from your old school or from your school if you still go... or a councelor
it doesnt necesarily have to be the police...
why dont you just pick up your stuff and leave... since your 18?

iam still writting my finals but after that which I finish on the 30th I think iam going to but for the moment I need to do something and I have tried talking to my school councelor and it was useless.

she spoke to me and it was just like she was tellin me to be strng and theres like nothing she can do. iam also not the person to go and talk to someone because I have been to so many people and its just like no where I can get help. my sister and I plan on going to the police today because it happened last night but I have to try get out the house first because he changed the lock on the gate so I can get out right now.

well I might be moving oversea at the beginning of next year to do aupairing but for now iam kind of stuck here. in my case I wish he would walk out on us. I cant explain how much I dislike him.
