What are the chances of having a baby with birth defects?

Well I'm 14 and pregnant, I don't need any rude comments I've heard enough, I came here for advice and that's what I need, thanks.

Okay my mom keeps saying if I have this baby it's going to be deformed and all kinds of things, we have no birth defect or anything that run in my family or my boyfriends, Although I am young I know of plenty of girls my age who had perfectly healthy babies.

I looked up how you can end up having a high risk pregnancy.
-being under 15
-weighing less than 100 lbs [I weigh 115]
-being less than 5'0'' tall [I'm 5'4'']
-poor health

So what are my chances of having a baby with birth defects?

chances are she is just trying to scare you to make you fell bad but there is soem risk and how old the father I am sry you said no rude comments but that was kinda dumb best advice love it to death no matter what it looks likes don't be ashamed of what you and him have made ok birth defects of not love the child ok it yours and don't be liek one of them kids who like yah I pregnet I have a baby and when they have it for a few days be like no way I amm going to put you of for adoption

The dad is 16 today, So yeah.

&+ I would never do that to my kid, I'll love it either way I just would like to know what my chances are of birth problems.

well if your healthy and up to weight
you should be fine, just keep your fingers crossed

your mom is concerned she is obviously very scared.
im not here to judge you because somethings just happen :] it warms my heart to see that you want to have it, not abort it. there should be more people like you in the world.
you sound like a totally healthy person and as long as the baby isnt breech im sure everything will go smoothly. just pray :]

haha, I didn't read anyone else's comments but I had a baby at 14(I was almost 15) and I was all the same sizes as you and the only problems was birthing problems. my child turned out perfect except that she has exsema. don't worry, you should be just fine.

It CAN happen huni...just like the older a woman is the higher chance for defects...the younger...Your body isnt fully capable of carrying a child sucessfully,you are still growing yourself.Just because you can get pregnant,doesnt mean your ready to have a child...I knew 3 girls in my middle school who had babys at 13 and 14 and one was deaf,the other had down syndrome...I don't know...best of luck though
