Muscle spasm

My boyfriend keeps getting muscle spasms in his leg and its been going on for like 4 days. He plays football so I dont know if that would cause it?
Is this normal?

not normal but it happens, have him drink more water that always helped for me

he could be dehydrated or he could of pulled a musle

Dehydration or overexercising his muscles. Get him a magnesium supplement, that should help with the muscle spasma and make sure he drinks a lot of water.
