hey!! I want to ask can a mother with hiv - breastfeed a baby with hiv+? what are the consequences??

It doesn't cause problems right away but mothers who breastfeed for 2 or more years double the chances of giving their baby HIV.

listen up!!! my friend has adopterd a baby who is 100% hiv +!!! she is hiv - just fell in love with the baby at first sight. and decided to take some kind of medication so that her breast can produce milk... I was wondering if my friend could actually get hiv???

no, she can't...unless the baby is bleeding somewhere in her mouth or the mother is bleeding somewhere the chances of carrying it over from baby to mother is virtually zero.

The problem arises when the Mother is HIV + and the baby isn't, then the baby will almost definitely get it...but I still do recommend that the mother speak to her doctor...just to make sure that nothing is wrong or could go wrong.
