Mom going to abandon me cause of weed

so about a week ago I got caught smoking weed. now this didnt go over well in my family especially with my mom. one day when I was talking to my dad about the issue he said between me and you he your mother wont ever speak to you again if you keep...

smoking weed. now this is almost the same occurence. my grandmother my mothers mom hasnt talked to her other daughter in 10 years because of her drug related problems. they keep on tellling me keep smoking pot and you will end up smoking crack like your aunt. and waht im trying to say is I just like to smoke pot none other. I dont think its that much of a bad deal. it soothes me and is a release just like having a few drinks, instead I have a few puffs. HELP!

it's bad because it's a DRUG, and it's ILLEGAL. duh moron. apparently all the weed you've smoking has brain your brain from remembering that part huh? who gives a f*ck if it soothes you. go take a f*cking bubble bath if you want something soothing, don't resort to something so stupid. isn't your family more important than wasting your money on a crap drug?

It's obvious that your mom and family have already seen the effects of drug addiction, so her fear isn't an unfounded one. Keep the statistics to yourself, you won't ever convince them with numbers...just drop the pot, and when you're on your own...you can re-decide if pot is what you really want.

Ok, so you like weed and you dont think it will do any harm. But they do. Whether it is an irrational belief or not they think that weed is going to lead you nowhere. So why not just stop? It's not like you need it right? So if this is really that important to them why not just quit? They're not asking you to make this huge sacrifice?

I beilve to cast a child out your house cause of a drug is kinda harsh, because I always get threatend to be kicked out you cud be taking a lot more worse things then weed, weed is quite a mild drug in short term use, its not like your doing crstal meth or heroine

but I know what your tlaking about, its very relaxing and causes a sense of happyness and well being so I understand you but its known that when you get used to the effects of weed you more onto harder drugs a lot of my friends have, so I see both points of veiw, tell them you wont smoke pot anymore.. but only when you need it, or feel the obsolute need to smoke pot you shud, because A. you wont get used to the effects as quik meaning no need to move onto harder things and B. if you do it without them knowing and not very often you shud be ok

but as others have said try difrent forms of relaxation like

-medetation
-bubble baths
-getting lsot in a compelling novel
-listnng to non lyrical music
-watching a comedy
-hanging out with friends that relax you

or just do somthing to occupie yoursel

Well you can get addicted to it, do you want to be braindead? Harsh as it sounds, people go backward after years of taking drugs, you may think 'pot' is harmless, but in reality, it stinks, no decent girl would want to go out with a druggie, and its a total waste of time and money.

You need to think about the fact that Weed is very addicting and can harm your body.
Your mom obviously cares for you or she wouldn't be feeling the way she feels right now. Just quit smoking pot altogether and your mom will be happy.
I like what tina said, take a bubble bath since that's more soothing.

Just remember you have one mom... and friends you have now will come and go, but you have one mom, and when it comes down to it she will the one person that you should always be able to count on. WHY RUIN THAT!!!

-prison population would lower (prisons are overcrowding with nonviolent offenders)
-keep patients from being convicted
-would provide millions of jobs for people
-would make us an independent country (fuel, etc.., debt free america)

people with an addiction (including hard drugs) shouldnt be thrown in jail, they need help
theres more people in jail with mental illnesses than there are in mental institutions

I may be late, but here's my two cents.
I don't understand most of you people. He was just a teenager probably peer pressured into using a soft core drug, and now his mom wants to cast him out? What kind of mom does this? If she felt so strongly about it, you would think she'd pay more attention to his habits and talk to him about it. If she used to do drugs, she'd easily recognize signs of drug use in her son.

What I am saying is that people on this board, for the most part, have ignored the greater issue. What you have done is far from Bad enough to warrant such a horrible reaction, and punishment, from your mom.

I support stillen132's general statement. People here like Ginatodder and leslie23, along with the majority of the American public, are sadly misinformed. PEOPLE SHOULD DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH! Find independent medical research for unbiased information (stay away from many government sponsored studies) and find out the truth about marijuana before you try to argue a point.

Anyways, to weed-bashers, if you think drugs are so bad, you would fight to decriminalize or legalize marijuana. Why? Because, if you study statistics from, for example, Germany (decriminalized) or Netherlands (legalized), you will see that alcohol consumption is lowered dramatically because people choose pot over it. And since marijuana is one of the safest drugs available, safer than caffeine, believe it or not, (you can overdose on caffeine or become chemically addicted, not possible with weed) there is less alcoholism, less drunk driving, less lives ruined etc...

People have to have an open mind and not let the horribly corrupt American government tell you what to think.
