OK soo, I need some suggestions a year ago on april 7, my best friend died in a car accident, she was 16. Well they have made it a tradition (started shortly after the wreck) to have a benefit dinner in her honor & to raise money for a scholarship fund.
I was asked to sing something at the dinner, but im not so sure what to sing.
Not meaning to sound cocky but I am a good singer so no worries on that.
I can do pretty much any song you throw out there. From carrie underwood to leona lewis to taylor swift.
Well anyways I neeed suggestions like baddd. (:
Thannkks!

Either way...
It will get moved to the more appropriate category. But yeah, asking it again wont get answers faster. She seems to think differently...whatever though. Go ahead, rate me a '0' because you didn't get the answer you wanted, definitely isn't going to break my heart...

I dont know if you ever watched the show the OC but there was a song on there called hallelujah by jeff buckley..you could try that..it was played at a memorial type function- check that one out.
you could do a classic song like 'in my life' by the beatles but make it a little more current or you could do something like 'in the arms of an angel' by sarah mclachalan
Good luck, I hope you find something you want to sing!

just because you posted this in love and relationships, doesn't mean you're going to get quicker answers. place this under the music category where it belongs.

I loved my friend, she died. We had a perfect friendship, we never fought.
Its for a loved one and a relationship that ended to fast, it kinda is a love and relationship question.

You could sing Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton, Don't Know Why by Norah Jones, Kathy's Song by Simon & Garfunkel, With a Little Help from My Friends by the Beatles (but it is more upbeat), and Wild World by Cat Stevens. That is all I can think of now, good luck with the song and I am sorry for the loss of your friend.

This may sound strange for a memorial, but I am a unique individule and always try to send positive messages in everything I do which my advice is to sing something really sweet, sincere, but keep it a bitter sweet happy. Thats what it should be because I have a hard time celebrating death, so keep in mind the remembrance, and celebration of your dear friend, maybe try, ' what a wonderful world' . there is a version that intertwines with 'somewhere over the rainbow 'and ends with 'what a wonderful world'. it sounds summery and sort of hawiian. thats just what it reminds me of. I taught some of my dance students a lrical routine to it, and it went over really well. I recieved a lot of compliments on the song selection. its pretty slow and mellow, which I find perfectly appropriete considering my feelings of keeping it happy yet bittersweet. hope that hepls. let me know if it does sweet pea. I hope you bring a light to all who listents to our voice. I am sure your an angel Sing your lungs out for your friend. I have been there too. life is hard, but everything has purpose; the hard thing in life is finding it.

You could sing that Brad Pasley / Dolly Parton song ; it's about loved ones who have passed on. Or you could sing one of her favorite songs that had a lot of meaning to her so you could share to others what that particular song meant.

I know your friend's birthday has already passed, but I couldn't help but give you this suggestion for next year, maybe.

It's called Footprints in the Sand by Leona Lewis.

Absolutely beautiful songs, I'm sure everyone will adore it.
