Marijuana use during pregnancy

what are your views on people smoking weed while pregnant? I hear so many different things, some people saying its not bad and some people saying it is. I hear people saying they smoked their whole pregnancy and their kids don't have any problems and are...

smart. and I've read about studies comparing children who were exposed to it while in the womb to those who weren't, and there were no differences. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about people smoking weed while pregnant, but its ok to take other medications such as anti depressents that havent even been around long enough to actually study what could happen to a child in the long run.

I am NOT saying I am smoking while pregnant because as soon as I found out I stopped. and I do NOT plan on starting again after my child is born because I know that he is going to need me and he is more important than me being high. I'm just asking your views and opinions on the subject.

well what I've heard is that if you smoke while pregnant it kills the baby's brain cell, and even if the baby comes out looking normal it can develop problems like add, adhd and stuff, so its better not to do it just to be prevent that stuff from happening

I think it is wrong to smoke or even drink during pregnancy if your pregnant take care of the baby well for it can be in good health!!! other then that stuff can happen to the baby

I think people who smoke anything while pregante really doesnt care about the baby,if they did they would try to quit during the pregancy.And a lot of woman try to not take any kind of meds while pregnates,unless told other wise by their doctor.

All of the above are correct and I totally agree with them. People who say the smoked weed during pregnancy took a big risk. If their kids came out fine, then they were lucky. Smoking weed can also lead to addiction when that child gets older, they are immun to it and therefore more likley to follow in the footsteps of there mother. Also as stated above, damaging of the brain cells, which you may not notice tell the get older and have to handle more difficult situations. Retardation, add, adhd, and even physical appearnce, stunt growth, etc. It is a very risky thing to do during pregnancy as well as alcohol or an kind of smoking. I would also add in that it is child abuse, Oh and also it can cause a child to act more violently and aggressive. I work at a preschool and we have to kids there that were exposed to such substances. And when you tell them anything they dont want to hear they both go on screaming, kicking, throwing things and more when throwing fits.

Weed is fine if you're pregnant! I wouldn't over do it, but it's a great cure for morning sickness. ADD is not from weed.. Take your kid off of sugar! It is not the cause of aggressiveness.. They're boys.. Maybe they have been spanked, and think violence solves problems. Legalize it!

you guys need to read more about pot. it is not addictive, it dose not hurt the baby. studies show that the babies from women that smoked while pregnant were healthier and bigger. it helps with back pain, nausea, irratibilty, and stimulates your appetite. all good things!
