Makeup troubles

I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out what types of things to use. I have black eyeliner, simple black mascara, tons of lip gloss, and I have plenty of nude blushes and eye shadows. The only thing I need is advice with the easiest things to...

get, where to get them, and what colors I should get. (I have smoky blue eyes with pin straight brown hair) my mom is no help at all. she doesn't think that I need anything more, but I want something a little more exciting, something that will make my eyes pop. However, I dont want to go overboard.
