Lobbyist stephen bassett says obama needs to release alien science?

Jeremy Goodrich yep, that's me Asked by thedude 6 months ago, 8 answers.

Amazing...apparently, Stephen Bassett who founded a research group called PRG is attempting to organize a campaign to force the US governemnt to release the flying saucers, alien technology and scientific know how that we've obtained from martians into...

the public domain to help solve the energy crisis.

So...if we *do* have alien science available to us, why wouldn't we use it to solve the energy problem? Assuming we do, what is the government hiding why aren't they releasing it? OR is it the case that this guy is making stuff up and there are no aliens?

He might not be making stuff up, he might actually believe what he's saying...however, that doesn't make it true...If we actually had Martian knowledge to cure the Energy Crisis, I think they'd use it...I don't think we do...

Of course he's making stuff up. He's a fruitcake. That's what fruitcakes do - make up crazy conspiracy theories.

If we had alien technology we are probably utilizing it. In any event, there is no way our government COULD release information about flying saucers. Such knowledge would create panic in many of the population PLUS threatening the validity of various religious beliefs.

ethmer, I'll bite: what's more important (assuming that the government is really hiding a flying saucer)...saving the planet from our own destructive habits...OR making sure that people's belief systems remain intact?

While I applaud faith..I'd rather save the planet than worry overmuch about invalidating theories about Earth being the only planet with intelligent beings on it.

I think beliefs would simply evolve, like they always do when an event challenges their validity. Although, the existence of aliens doesn't really challenge that many religious systems.

...that is... unless the aliens themselves are responsible for our existence on Earth. THAT could be hard for people to accept... a galactic antfarm... ouch... I'm sure many many people wouldn't react well to the notion of suddenly being ''less important'' cogs in the universal machine.

Then again... they're likely to just start worshiping the aliens...

Well, take Christianity. Either there's alien Jesus, in which case the biblical literalists will be really peed off with the account in Genesis, or the aliens don't have any messianic religions to match Christianity, in which case all christians are faced with the question were all the aliens that have ever lived doomed to eternal torture in hell?

alright I dont care weather or not belief system will be affected by UFO tech being released and it probably wouldnt cause panic every body would be knew it any ways why would any one let every other powerful nation know that they have this technology it would but fear in other countries not individuals and there might even be wars over it thats if its exists second if it did exist why tell every one because we probably could figure out how the damn thing works if we had albert einstein and nikcola tesla if we had something that was advanced enough to travel through massive space distances look at are space vehicle its cant just get up and go its some kind of 3 day launch prep and clear skys the point is we wouldnt be able to learn anything from it we couldnt use it so save it for when we have the technological ability to figure it out *tada* theres an answer

I think... religious beliefs And stuff like that should be pushed aside... And science should be taken more sireously... I mean... Why do the government care about religious beliefs...

If Jews and the Christians think they are right about use being the ONLY Life forms , let them think that, who cares I mean no effence but they have a right to beleive what THEY want. And let science do its job , religion should not get in the way from making Amazing discoveries...

And what makes people think that aliens Are Super high teck?...
