Living costs

Asked by carolineandkatarina 7 months ago, 3 answers.

Can someone tell me how the rent system is? So I rent an apartment, and I pay in the deposit, but isn't there any Realtor fees? And what about monthly bills-water, electricity? They come separately? I know there are some apartments where the costs are...

included. I'm not a USA resident, but I need to find it out before moving. If the rent is 1000$, how much will it be with water and electricity and other communal costs? California, perhaps, where I suppose the heat isn't necessary.

There aren't Realtor fees to rent a place - that's only if you purchase.

Some apartments come with everything included, others you have to pay your own utilities - it's what the landlord decides.

As for your electricity and water, it's not related to what the cost of the apartment is - it's determined by consumption.

Many rentals ask for first and last months rent...plus damage deposits...Some will allow pets, but only with a non-refundable extra damage deposit. Water/sewer and garbage are included in many rentals, but darn few include heat and electricity.

There are no realty fees, however.

Thank you for your advice happy
I asked about that realtor fees, because there are ones in my country in Europe. Even if you are looking for a place to rent, you have to pay one month rent to realtor. And I know about consumption, I just wanted to know average costs. How much it could be, if I live alone?
