Lip piercing/"hiding it"

Our Cat Asked by vickylaw 5 months ago, 6 answers.

Im 19 years old... and its quite rediculous, but my parents are very strict about piercings and things like that...they know I have my tongue and nose pierced, but they are extremelyyy against me getting my lip done...
I've wanted it for almost two...

years now... and my window of opportunity to do it is closing (im an education major in college... I graduate in 2 years.)
...I was just wondering... I was thinking about getting my lip pierced while away at college this september (I wont be home/see my parents until thanksgiving in late november.) ... do you think I'd be able to get it pierced... let it heal... then just take it out when im around them over breaks? (and wear a clear retainer while I sleep/know I wont see them, so it wont close?)

so... im guessing im asking how long can you leave it out for before it starts to close?
... and also, I wanna get a veryyy tiny labret stud...so do you think the scar would be very noticable? (I have my nose done...I want something around the same size.. when I take that out, its barely noticable... with a little makeup it dissapears.)

|| I have 19 piercings (and im still very presentable! thank god. lol)... everything except my lip and eyebrow...but I reallyyy want this one... ||

Your 19... you don't need parental consent to get a piercing anymore. If they'd kick you out over a piercing, they're not very good parents. There is no way to hide a lip piercing until your able to change it *which won't be for awhile*... then you can either get a clear/invisble one or take it out when they're around. No the scar won't be noticable and will continue to fade with time.

... and do you know if the clear ones are realllyyy clear? bc sometimes they're just less-noticable... esp. with my major... I need something thats pretty close to invisible...

Their shouldn't be a scar? You mean hole? The hole will be a bit noticable. It doesn't matter if you want a small stud or not, the size if the bar(14g) that is going to go through your lip is going to be the same size. You're over 18 just tell them it's your body and you're still very presentable looking so it's not ruining your appearence.

You'll still be able to see the clear ones if someone looks good enough. You can check with the piercing place when you have it done for info about how long you have to wait to change it and stuff.

I think, that at 19 years old, you should be able to make your own choices. However, if you are still living under their roof, you should respect their opinion about it. Hey, you already have some piercings...just respect their decision and wait a little while happy You can get one later.

you need to keep it in for at least 3 months before you attempt to change it
because it needs that time to heal
as for the clear piercings
there still noticale, but usually people dont notice them
nothing can just make it invisible
but clear ones come relatively close
