accually that all depends 1 who the creditor is and 2 if you gave them your work phone number

If you gave them your work number on the paperwork they can call you at work. When they call you again just tell them that it is your work number and you need them to stop calling before you get fired. Then follow it up with a nice but firm letter saying the same thing.

It is not legal for a creditor to call you at work if you tell them not too. Further, they are not allowed to say anything about you owing a debt. If they reveal any information other than verifying your work status at that company, they are in violation of federal statutes on fair debt collection. Further, if you get an attorney, creditors are no longer able to contact you- ALL CORRESPONDENCE HAS TO BE THROUGH YOUR ATTORNEY- if they call or nail you directly once they are sent notice that you have legal representation, they are again in violation of federal law. My recommendation- the best advice by far- contact an attorney! Good luck!
