If the laws after a runaway

If the law comes after my friend who is 17 and who has run away from home what should I do? Hide him in the basement? Can I get in trouble for havin him @ my house?

Answer #1

yes you can, its would be considered as aiding or assisting a felon or something like that. if he didn’t kill anyone or steal a car or bank robbery it shouldn’t be to bad.

Answer #2

Yes you can get into trouble hiding him. Even though you want to help him (and obviously you are a very good friend to hide him) don’t you think it might be better to have him try to work it out with his parents? You would be an even better friend to encourage him to work it out, unless of course his parents are physically abusing him. But then he needs to go to the police about that.

Good luck

Answer #3

lol, he’s hardly a felon (you actually need to have commited a felony for that) And honestly the cops rarely go chasing after 17 year olds who have run away from home… For his own good, try to get him to go home… Unless his parents are abusive, he really doesnt need to be wandering the streets. How’s he going to support himself? Where’s he going to live?

Answer #4

If they know you’re ‘hiding’ him yes - charges probable.

Answer #5

oh srry I went a little over with the felony=) its only because I didnt read the previous question
