Where does the language Latin come from and how long has it existed?

I did some investigating and this what I found:
Latin developed in about 900 BC or some would say around the 8th or 9th century. It comes from an area called Latium, hence the name Latin. Latium is the immediate area surrounding Rome.

latin started in Italy where rome is now. The people called the latins started it...and it is the root of almost all languages.

latin alfabet comes from the Etruscians wich are a different ethnic and cultural people then the latins themselves.
