I just did 16 interviews this week, and for me all I wanted was for the people to be honest and be themselves, I looked for body langue and eye contact, confidence and not to answer the question with a hesitant question. be sure of yourself but not cocky and if they say do you have any questions it is always good to have one or two questions, like how much does it pay, insureance, how many hours. or something that pertains to the job, or you could always ask when will a choose be made and will we be contacted either way. Good luck be confident and relax, shake hands and make eye contact.
whenever I have been to a job interview I always think about the only two possible outcomes- a. you get the job b. you dont get the job, now if you get the job then all is good and you wander what had you so nervous in the first place, but I find that the trick with b. is to know in your own mind that if they dont want you then its there loss, and that your never going to see them again whatever happens so whats ther to be nervous about, so put on a smile be confident and say whats the worst that can happen, goodluck, thanks.
Thanks guys, that really helps. Im a little unsure about something though - I'm going for a retail job purely because after applying for many many office jobs (I want to do reception) I've been told that they are not hiring because of the way the economy is. I don't WANT to work in retail, it is a last resort. If they ask why I want to work there what should I say? Do I be honest and say Im going back to retail (my first job was retail) because I can't get anything else? Or does that sound really bad and I should lie and say I love retail..???
