I was looking on the computer and I have all the symtoms of tmj. and I know ill probably have to get a splint or something but if that dont work I know ill have to get that surgery thing and I wanted to know if the surgeon opens your jaw from the inside or outside? because I wouldnt want them to cut the outside of my face?

Dear maxypoo,
There will be many, many test to go through before you are diagnosed with TMJ. This is not very common and usually hits older people but I have known younger ones who have it. Today there is a host of things that can be done before surgery. If you suspect you have it see a doctor right away to begin testing to rule out other problems. There is a greater chance you don't have it than you do.
Sue...good luck
