LOL! I have the same kind of dog. There is nothing gonna calm her down, mine is the same freakin’ way! All I got to say is take a ball and run her to death! LOL! That’s what I do. And after you bring her in she will fall asleep!

I used to have a Jack Russell too, fortunately he wasn’t too crazy, but he did bark a lot. I think a shock collar is a bit harsh too. We hired a trainer from a service called “Bark Busters” and they came to our house and taught us how to control him. Whenever he was being out of hand we were told to use the word “bar” is a harsh tone. We also were given a “Bar Chain” which we were to throw at the dogs side and he eventually heard the sound of the chain when we picked it up and came running to our side, without us having to throw it.

This dog simply needs more activity to cool her jets…and probably some obedience classes so you can get a handle on her behavior, without undue stress…You don’t use a shock collar on a dog who’s doing exactly what they are bred to do…and JRT’s are HIGHLY active…VERY smart…If you walk her, walk her more…if you play fetch etc…do more…she’s exactly what she’s supposed to be.

A shock collar is good for some things, and a LAST resort (usually discipline problems from a distance, like a dog that chases livestock)…NOT for in home discipline.

I have a hypo dog aswell and obedense classes has help soo much. you teach the obedense which knoackers them out anyway as they concertrate so much. I’ve taught my dog a watch me command, which is when ever he passes a dog or a cat or kids or he just to excited I say watch me and he looks at me till I say otherwise then I give him a treat!!! I tried throwing a ball but he never brought it back so I try a golf ball which bounces like mad and goes far!!! knackers my dog out and frizzbies!!! try throwing a ball behind you then keep walking forward then the dog has to run more!!! or swimming?

they calm abit but you just have a hypo dog!!! work with her not agaist her :)
