Will the world run out of oil in 50 years or so?

I think/ know that the world is going to run out of oil in the next 50 years at least, am I stupid for thinking this?

Impossible to say. There's still a lot of oil in the ground. The question is, how much of it will we extract, refine, and make available for consumption over the next 50 years? The cost of that, combined with worldwide oil demand, will determine whether we run out.
