Tourette syndrome is associated with tics - these can be physical or vocal (the stereotyped association with Tourette's is a person who yells obscenities, but this form of it is exceptionally rare). Most commonly you see eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, and facial movements.
Some people with autism have tic like movements. But no, as stated above, Tourette's and autism are not the same.
tourettes means you cant control what you say. you often say things at random like obsceneities or other things. autisim is very different. it is sort of like being mentally retarded, except autistic kids focus on patterns and often have one or two subject areas in which they excell in. like, they may never learn to read but by second grade they may be able to to math expected of an eighth grader. being autisitc doesnt mean youre dumb, but rather that you excell in one area much more than the other, although more severe cases may appear to an unknowing person as simple mental retardation.
