Is this an effective way to train my cat to not bite?

Asked by taurus14 9 months ago, 7 answers.

My cat bites a lot. He will shoot out from under hiding places and attack my leg or try to climb up me. I have hundreds of scratches on my arms from him 'playing' with me. I'm wondering if biting him back would help to train him? Is it sanitary to bite...

your cat back? Can you get bacteria or diseases? Thanks.

No - do not bite your cat back.

You can try a spray bottle filled with water though. Everytime it bites you spray the cat.

Actually feeding a bad behavor with a bad behavor.. make things worse.. he might think you are playing.. I say ignore him and go limp.. even if it hurts.. your cat is doing it for attention.. once your cat lets go pet him..if he starts back in dont move..

No don't go limp, that's submissive, thats saying the cat is better than you.
You need to make your cat submissive, when it bites unnecessarilly; point your finger at the cat and say 'no' in a sturn way.
It's not difficult.
