Is the "n" word a bad word?

Yeah, I’m asking fa for their own opinion…

All my life I have been called the “n” word in school.

So people are just so mean too me. Make fun of me all my life, I wanted to quit school at time.

But now that I’m in college, everyone calls themselves the “n” word and they are happy to say it. The even have international competitions so see who is the biggest “n” word of the schools.

I don’t know, I still hate it and everyone around me loves it…

I guess my question is…

Do you like to be called the “n” word?

Oh, by the way… The “n” word is nerd…

Answer #1

It’s not a bad word, there’s /another/ “n” word. -.-

No self-respecting person wants to be a nerd, those who say they do either don’t care or are joking around.

Answer #2

When you’re young and smart, kids react by trying to make themselves look better than you - it’s a childish jealousy. Somewhere along the way, someone came up with the word “nerd”, and as a child, to be labeled a nerd can be hurtful and mean.

As you get older - now in college, people start growing up and realizing that it’s the ‘nerds’ of the world who actually make it somewhere in life and suddenly, everyone wants to be a nerd.

Don’t ever be ashamed of who you are…if you are fortunate enough to be blessed with intelligence, you flaunt it and become one of the best damn nerds out there.
