in some ways yes it does. they have very different personalities but can still make great pets. as already said you will need to clean there cage more consistantly as they do defacate more often than a hanster and they also have a very different odor. but you should be able to feed them the same thing and make SURE they have CONSTANT supply of food water and wood blocks to chew on so that there teeth do not overgrow
