Is jesus god's real son?

Asked by maddy5908 10 months ago, 36 answers.

I don't believe in God, but is Jesus REALLY supposed to be god's son? I think that Virgin Mary just wasn't really a virgin.

***Jesus REALLY supposed to be god's son?***

For Christians, yes. He's REALLY 'supposed' to be the son of God.

And for Muslims, he's REALLY 'supposed' to be a prophet.

And for Buddhists, he's REALLY 'supposed' to be a friend to Buddha.

And for professional athletes, he's REALLY 'supposed' to be the reason they win.

...I suppose...

There is NO way to know for sure if any of it is true - there is actually more evidence that leads people to the conclusion that it's all been made up rather than it's a true story.

That's funny...Buddha's time was 500 years before Jesus came along, lol
(but that's where Jesus learned all his golden rules...from the teachings of Buddha)

It really was funny...I'm not making fun or anything.

Hi,
I'm a student of christian counseling and biblical study.
Yes, Jesus is the son of God. (If you accept Jesus as
your savior--His spirit comes in--which is not at all
scary). When we do that we have a feeling of happiness,
feeling good, even being able to manage life and problems. In a sense, He helps us (that's why they call
Him the helper, teacher, friend, brother, etc.
As far as Mary, because we KNOW Gods spirit exists, we
know that the SPIRITUAL IMPREGNATION was true. These
people were also, very dedicated and spiritual people
who NEVER LET their daughter out without chaperones and
even if she was ever alone--these people would rather die than go against God.
(It is possible to have complete control over ourselves
(BUT ONLY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT-- INSIDE)
If you want to know the one true God of love, grace and mercy(because once you are a christian, you can be forgiven for anything. Your pain, memories are lightened
and best of all you'll live forever with a body-you will be you. The freedom from all the junk that bothered you
before, and He helps you to accomplish things (supernaturally)
JUST SAY: Dear Father God,
I am a sinner. I know that you sent you son Jesus to
die the death of torture that was meant for me. I thank
you Father. I Thank you Lord Jesus. I need you to
come into my life and help me. I accept your free gift.
Now, I know I will live forever, and my sins are forgiven. AMEN

Hi Maddy. Christians believe that Jesus is god's son, and that he is simultaneously god. Obviously virgins don't give birth, so if Jesus isn't just a myth, he certainly had ordinary parents. Personally, I don't think there is a historical human behind Jesus at all. I think the stories started off as allegorical, in which Jesus represented the plight of the Jews, and later gentile Christians misunderstood him as a historical person and expanded the legend.

No matter what your belief, Jesus is definitely the most influentul being in human history.

Unfortunately, that's probably true, even if he didn't exist. It's just a pity that its a net negative influence, not a positive one.

As far as Mary, because we KNOW Gods spirit exists

Really? How do you know that? Note you can't quote the new testament to support it, since that would be circular reasoning.

These people were also, very dedicated and spiritual people who NEVER LET their daughter out without chaperones

Mary was already married to Joseph at the time. I don't think any chaperones were involved, somehow. There's certainly no mention of chaperones in Matthew.

I agree with toadaly. There probably wasn't a historical Jesus, and if there was, his life has become so fused with myth and legend that it's impossible to know the facts about his existence. They aren't recorded anywhere outside the Gospels, and those are not reliable sources of information. But it's more likely he is a mythical, allegorical figure, and he's been interpreted that way by some.

Agree with toadaly as well.

No Jesus wasn't the son of God because there is no God. You have to prove God and which God first. Then validate the bible. Good luck

Yes... we've heard about the trinity... over and over... and over... and over... and it TOO, leads to questions that cannot be answered.

sorry for the double post... above

As far as christians believe, Jesus was actually the son of God. So as for your question... then YES, Jesus was really supposed to be the son of God.

you are free to speculate as to if this is true, if this matters, if you believe it... etc.
But as for the story that Christians believe, then YES.

As it is in the movie Dogma, Mary only gave birth to Christ as a virgin... then she went on to have other children with her husband... so therefore... no longer a virgin.

the birth of jesus christ is another reason why the trinity doesn't make sense to me. how can the father impregnate himself inside his mother? doesn't make sense.

luke 1:35-- And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

so Jesus (according to the bible) was the literal son of Heavenly Father and came to a virgin mother.

and yes, later on mary went on to have children with joseph. she wasn't a virgin her whole life. jesus had half brothers and sisters, more or less.

***I can't be sure if a historical Jesus existed at all, seeing as there is no evidence outside of the Bible. I would probably say that he was just a myth and probably based on previous pagan gods who share descriptive similarities with Jesus.***

There IS evidence that Jesus existed (Roman historical records, other religions mention him, etc.) ...but there's no evidence that he's the son of God, or God incarnate, etc.

well sorry if I'm mistaken, but I've read that there is a complete lack of evidence that Jesus existed compared to other historical figures.

And in 2000 years there will be a lack of evidence that George Washington ever existed. People of that time will think our history books are nothing but myths, and that George Washington was merely an icon that we based our political system on. They will question whether we ever even had a constitution. But that doesn't make it any less true.
