People are people. Some are nice. Some aren't. America and Japan are big countries. If you went to New York City...you might think all Americans are a-holes. If you went to a small town, you might think the opposite. I'm guessing the same holds true for Japan.

Define nicer. Do you mean more polite, or more sincere? Sometimes, people who are more polite are less sincere.

I think generally, japanese culture is very big on manners, even if its just for the sake of being polite.

I just gotta say as a native new yorker that NYC gets that bad rep more from the people who come here than the natives. There's a lot of 'salt of the earth' in New York. Its the biggest small town in the world. Many who come here come to make lots of money, make it big, get famous, be cool, etc, so they are being caricatures. They come here to step on people.

Dre- the same can go for Miami. Many people there came from elsewhere for whatever reasons. I've had people tell me that its not easy traveling to Japan as a black or brown person because all they have there is stereotype impressions from movies/media, so they can find the treatment insulting.

The Japanese raise their kids to beliefs, morals, and respect to others.
Of course, every country has their few,
but the majority of Japan is very respectable. happy
that's a good reason why I love them so much!!
