I happen to be a girl, and personally, I think if she's conservative and girly, get the nano. If she's really into music and is willing to spend time with that kind of stuff a lot, get the iPod touch. I'm thinkin the nano, mostly, though because not only is it enough to store a LOT of your favorite songs on it, it comes in a boat load of diff colors and the iPod Touch doesn't.
If you guys are close, she won't care WHAT it is, as long as it came from you and you put a lot of thought into it. Hope she likes it.
