It all depends on where in california you leave. Some parts are very conservative. Obviously the Bay area, and LA are very liberal. But Orange county, is very conservative.
well.. im from los angeles, born and raised and it's definitely not as laid back as you think over there.. it's not all "beach" and "sunshine" and "pot smoking" and "freelove" over there, that's just a stereotype.. I moved out of california 2 years ago and where I live now in texas it's like exactly the same. the gay laws are different, but that's pretty much it. if you actually grew up in california you'd see that's it's not as amazing as you weirdos make it out to be.
my husband is from san francisco and it is very liberal. he has been in culture shock since moving to the south.
there are many conservative areas in california, as stated above.
yeah im a totalll weirdo asking a question
im curious...
but thanks everyone!
when you live somewhere where the whether rocks and the women are hot, you're just happy. happy people in general are more laid back. hawaii is another great example. the weather there is even better than california, so the people are even more laid back. have you ever been to hawaii? the people there live the dream, and are incredibly laid back. I live in los angeles, and I love it here. there are problems, like traffic, but overall it's great. ohio has crappy wheather, so people get crabby. crabby people are uptight and no fun to be around. you need to get out of there. I recommend california or hawaii. live the dream.
there is a book about that titled "the geography of bliss" it is excellent...and makes your point completely hungryhungrychippo.

Is california more open minded?
It seems California is WAY more open minded about things such as marijuana laws and gay marriages. They made gay marriage legal, it seems like Cali is the best state ever. Does anyone know why they're more laid back?
