Will hacking my ipod touch harm it?

I've got an ipod touch and I was just wondering if I will harm it if I will jail break it ?? ( ie hacking or downloading 3rd party applications on it )

Well, it could harm it. And then Apple won't exchange it or help you fix it, since you messed with it...
