Hi prep1111,
The short answer; Yup.
The longer answer:
In 1994, a Swedish study found that women 18-30 years old who visited tanning parlors 10 times or more a year had seven times greater incidence of melanoma than women who did not use tanning salons.
And in 2002, a study from Dartmouth Medical School found that tanning device users had 2.5 times the risk of squamous cell carcinoma and 1.5 times the risk of basal cell carcinoma .
Basically, using tanning salons gives you the same risk for cancer as tanning from the sun, even with sunscreen.
Dear prep1111,
Tanning booth use higher UV rays than even what the sun offers because it is concentrated. I've seen some awful results from indoor tanning and some areas in Canada are now considering banning them.
Sue...good luck

Will indoor tanning increase skin cancer risks even with lotion?
Is it easy to develop skin cancer if I go to a tanning booth once a week? I use lotion, so wouldn't that like help my skin?
PS. I'm a guy and I'm 16-18 years old
