Im 17 years old, and have still not got my period! What`s wrong with me??

There are a variety of possible reasons for why you haven't started menstruating. I have known women who didn't start until age 18. Common reasons for a shy first period are extreem athleticism, eating disorders, being underweight, inherited late puberty, extreme stress, or you are simply a late bloomer. Uncommon reasons: You have no ovaries, you are a genetic XY male whose body cannot respond to testosterone(don't laugh too hard, jamie lee curtis has this condition), your hymen covers your vagina so completely that no menstrual flow can't get through, blockage in your fallopian tubes, inability to make gonadotropin releasing hormone (which triggers the synthesis of other hormones), defective ovaries. You likely fall into the first set of reasons, as the other are pretty rare. In general, if you have other signs or developement, like breasts, pubic hair, etc, you may just need to put on some weight (girls need a certain amout of fat to be able to mensruate), or just wait a bit. However, as with everything, if in doubt, see a doctor. The best way to find out why, is to have a check-up with your gynecologist, or visit your local Womens health center.

It's advised that if you haven't started your menstral cycles by age 17 that you see a doctor. It could be a hormonal problem or a variety of other things.

if you passed 20 or 20 and didn't get your period then go to a doctor, still under 20, don't worry about it, but I still think you should go to a doctor just incase!
