If they hate weed why do they keep smoking it?

Okay this question is about weed! I never did it or anything, and trust I will never do it, but the smell is so awful, and one of my friend agrees, yet, he still smokes it, and he said he still does it cause it makes him fill good! But I still dont get it, if the smell makes him sick, why do it? There are other things in the world that make you feel good and most of them are legal!
So I guess I really need advice on how to get him to stop, so he can quite being sick all the time!

YOU WONT BE ABLE TO STOP HIM, IF HE WANTS TO STOP HE WILL IN HIS OWN TIME, SAYIN THAT THOUGH, MY BROTHER HES BEEN SMOKIN IT SINCE HE WAS 11!!! AN HES NOW 21, I DONT CARE WHAT PEOPLE SAY IT IS!! ADICTIVE!! AND HE NEEDS!! IT HE GETS VIOLENT IF HE HASNT HAD ANY WEED

Doing drugs numbs people. When they are high, they no longer have an emotional attachment to things that are stressing them out. The sad part is, that most don't know that they need to feel that frustration and anger and pain to grow up. Have you noticed how a lot of people who do drugs on a regular basis act like little kids?
