Toadly there is no reason to bash other peoples beliefs everyone is entitled to ones own opinion, it doesn’t matter because at the end of the day we all believe in the same divinity but emphasize different faces of that grand divinity. SOmetimes people just see it differently and you have no idea what their “own theology” is. No need for hostility. But to answer the question at hand, from my interpretation of the bible, I don’t see anywhere that says masturbation is a sin. If you follow the physiology of human beings, then you will see that it is necessary once and a while and god designed humans this way. Just like if you have an itch, you are intended to scratch it are you not? If you are hungary, you are intended to eat, are you not? Its just lustful thoughts and intercourse without commitment (being promiscuous) that will do you in so I’d scrap the porn because it is not a natural part of self relief (can happen during sleep as well) as god intended. Just my view as a naturalist. Interpret the word for yourself=)

I challenge anyone on this site to swear that they take every part of the bible literary. One can strive to do so but it is really not possible.

One of the main reasons is the immense amount of possible interpretations that can be made.

Even different christian groups cant agree on how parts of the bible should be applied in todays society.

Of course, the 10 commandments are clearer.

You say, ‘thats stupid you either go all the way or not at all’. Unfortunately, that is not the way society works in many areas.

You have moderate Christians and all possible variations up to extremist christians. Most will claim that their interpretation of the bible is the correct one.

My earlier comment was not written to offend christians, it was one form of advice that adviceman can take or leave.

At the end of the day, it is up to him as to what advice he finds useful.

This is quite a difficult one because your christian belief is based on faith. A lot of other people will not share the same faith as you.

I even know some christionas who do not believe in hell.

You will have replies from christians possibly saying that masturbation is a sin and replies from non christians saying its all ballsh*t and so is the bible etc.

You have two extremes plus the ones in the middle to take into account.

You need to decide if you want to accept your christian belief or accept the majority view of doctors and specialists who will say that masturbation is healthy and harmless.

I’m trying to think back to the bible but as I recall, it says something about spilling ones ‘seed’ on barren ground or something to that affect. Gebnerally thought to mean one should not masturbate.

Maybe you could clarify this for me.

lol 2nd Most silliest question,whoever told you that you will go to Hell if you masturbate,no you will not. It’s a complete lie,whoever told you probably wanted to either scare you or prevent you from pleasuring yourself. If that were true,which it isn’t,if people masturbated 24/7,we would all go to Hell.

Long story short,NO your not going to Hell.

No you will not! - Hell does not exist.

However, if you have a religious upbringing that has told you this, it will be hard for anyone to persuade you otherwise.

Many people, even some Christians, do not believe in hell and it was just a story created by man in the name of Christianity to control and exert power over society. Especially around the middle ages.

These would be the same people who did not want the bible translated from Latin to English as it took away their control from the people.
