Im half Russian and honestly if you didn't grow up with the language around you its very difficult. Honestly it really depends on the person. I would try a easier language first like spanish or if your looking for something similar to Russian try German because when you learn how to speak German picking up Russian will be way easier
You know I believe anyone can learn anything! It just depends on how much effort you are willing to put in it. I have a love for languages. The fastest way to learn a language is to go study it where it is being spoken. In that way you will be forced to speak the language.I learnt spanish in 6 months , I went to cuba to learn it. I'm not saying you should go to Russia, but it is a good I dea if you are seriously into it.Or why don't you buy that language software called Rosseta Stone.Studying a language from it is the equivalence of studying 4 years in university GOOD LUCK!
Russian is relatively easy to learn, compared to other languages. The only hard part is learning the new alphabet, but in about a month you'll be sounding out Russian words. In Russian, there are no articles like the or an, and it is a much more direct language than most others. For example, if you wanted someone to pass you salt, in English you would say, Please pass me the salt. But in Russian, it would be translated as, Give salt please. Just say please to make it polite. Other examples would be Я программист, which translates as I programmer.
I would say learn Russian, because it's easier than most other languages. After you've mastered that, go onto others, like German (which is more difficult than English, trust me. I took 3 years or German and only 1 of Russian, and I speak better Russian!), or Spanish.
Hope this helps!
