I pierced my ears myself, and they may be infected.

best friends Asked by voice5w33t 11 months ago, 4 answers.

I pierced my own ears for all 4 of my piercing. The first two (in the middle of the ear lobes) I did a few months ago. I used a needle that I barely sterilized and then did not use a silver or gold earring. I think it is sterling silver, but I'm not...

sure. I did two more, right next to the other ones, two days ago, and they have been bleeding a little bit out of the holes and some clear puss has been coming out with the blood. I wear the same sterling silver earrings every day, and I never take them out. They are both bigger holes than most of my friends have and I don't know why, but they are a grayish color just around the holes. It hurts really badly, and I don't know if I should get it check out. HELP!!!

It wasn't smart AT ALL to pierce them yourself. ALL piercings should ALWAYS be done PROFESSIONALLY. Take the jewlery out and let it heal. You might want to go to the doctor too for the infection. Once everything heals and the infection is gone, get the re-done PROFESSIONALLY.

well I've never pierced my own ears but I peirced my best friends and the first two I did they were fine but then when she did her third holes and her cartlidge they grew infected. so I think you need to get them checked out becuase it just spreads. and you could try to use like ear cleaner stuff that supposed to prevent infection. but I would get it checked out if I were you.

It is very dangerous to pierce your ears by yourself and especially if the equipement you are using is not sterile. I definately suggest that you get it checked out.

Signs of an infection of a pierced ear are tenderness, a yellow discharge, redness, and some swelling.

The most common causes of infection are piercing the ears with unsterile equipment, inserting unsterile posts, or frequently touching the earlobes...

Get it checked as soon as possilbe. You can get very sick if the infection carries on.
