Keep it healthy.
Condition your hair everyday, leave it in for a good 5-10 minutes when you do. And be sure to get regular hair trims, because if not you will end up with split/dead ends and that isn't healthy.

Braiding doesn't make your hair grow. All it does is stretch it and that isn't good for it either. Eat healthy and drink plenty of water. Use a good shampoo and conditioner and use heat styling tools as little as possible. The better shape you keep your hair in the faster it will grow.
