I had the same problem a few days ago. I am too shy to say it out loud so I texted it to him(I am a textaholic) that worked out well for me cause I was able to tell him without embarrassing myself and it helped me get a little more confident in talking about what I want because he was willing to listen and comfort me(though I did shock him when I brought it up xD) or something you could also do is wait till he brings it up again.
