Yes you can take a bath. Ha And you can chage it right now, and you dont even have to clean it. They just say that stuff to make it so you have to buy more of their stuff.

NO!!! don’t take bath!! bacteria multiply in hot water and because theres no way for it to spread it is attracted to your body! DO NOT TAKE A BATH!! take a shower, it’s so much better for new piercings. sorry if I sound like I’m freaking out but my cousin got her hips pierced, took a bath and they got so infected the turned puprle and leaked red and yellow pus… wasn’t fun.

Then your family have been incredibly lucky. As a professional piercer these kind of comments worry me. Hxcbbygrl69, a piercing is essentially an open wound that just happens to have a piece of jewellery inside it. You need to care for it and clean it daily.

The best thing to use for piercings is a Sea Salt Soak. Boil some water in a kettle, and put into a small ramekin along with a little sea salt to make a mild solution.

Allow this to cool, and then cup over the piercing site and wiggle around so that it washes the piercing. Take this off, and rinse with fresh cooled water.

If an infection looks like it may be creeping in, (unusual red puffyness that doesn’t look like the usual healing process, the same applies for discharge (note there will usually be some yellowy crust!)) then put one drop of tea tree oil onto the entry and exit points of the piercing. Leave this for 30 seconds - 1 minute, and then rinse off using Sea Salt Soak and fresh water. Tea tree oil is antibacterial so it will help get rid of the infection.

Please take care of your piercings or you may end up scarred.

Notice how Sea Salt and Tea Tree oil are NOT THINGS THAT PEOPLE WILL USE FOR MASS PROFITS but every day items that are used for care.

ok so I am not a professional but I do have somthing to say. I think piercer’s tell u, you need to clean it 2, 3, 4 times and day and you need to do this and that is because they want you to avoid infection 100% … but honestly (and I do have my belly button pierced) I think thats just a little excesive…

you should clean it everyday at lest once but not like 4 times like some people say to do and if one day you dont clean it then just get a little dixi cup and put some salt water on it, takes like 2 mins and either way its pretty much a cleaning. you dont really have to do both and it shouldnt cost you a lot of money because people use salt for everything and water is free...
ONE OF THE MOST VERY IMPORTANT THINGS TO know IS DONT TOUCH IT!!! yes I know its a new toy and you want to twirle it, poke it and show people it, but your hands contain SO MUCH bactiria because of all the things you touch and so do other peoples hands, I mean you dont know what they have done and letting them touch your belly ring when its new is grounds for infection... I just leave mine alone I dont touch it unless I am cleaning it and I've notice that it is healing so well and I have had no infections also touching it causes irritation and that can causes it to take longer to heal so if you want it to heal fast so that you can start changing your rings then I would highly suggest not to touch it...
I know that when you get it done and you listen to the people tell you what to do it sounds overwelming and like a lot of work, but its not really I mean yes it takes care and responsability but its not that bad... now not taking care of it at all is stupid and that girl the one who wrote the first comment well she is just smoking crack... lol but really its not that hard.. hope what I have said helps

Sadly Hxcbbygrl69 you are incorrect. If there have been no cases of even mild infection, then your family have been incredibly lucky. As a professional piercer these kind of comments worry me. For around two weeks its best to stay away from baths and swimming pools as they harbour bacteria which in the worst case can lead to blood poisoning (not wanting to scare anybody here but it CAN happen). Showers are marginally better, but it is best to follow the routine below after you shower in the morning and before bed to keep your piercing really clean and healing properly!
