I can't figure out this problem...?

ok... p minus 2 times 5 + 8 divided by 4 = 2 sooo what is p??

You have to work backwards through the problem so...

2x4 = 8
8-8= 0
0/5 = 0
0+2 = 2
P = 2

So your answer is 2.

that's not what I got, but I may be wrong.
p-2(5+8)/4=2
p-2(13)/4=2
p-26/4=2
p-6.5=2

add 6.5 to both sides (-6.5+6.5; 2+6.5)
so
p=8.5

*did it with order of operations
